A few years ago, I was hiking in the Swiss Alps with my good friend Roland. Our plan was to ascend to Shark Fin Peak which was a 10 hour journey round trip! The scenery was breath-taking: Snow capped peaks, crystal clear running streams, and fields of green with vibrantly colored wildflowers! Unfortunately, we took a wrong turn and did not realize it until an hour later! We examined our map and pinpointed where we veered off-track. We doubled back until we found the right path and then were able to make the majestic ascent to Shark Fin Peak! It was an unforgettable journey! The image of the Christian life as a journey captures our experience of following Jesus. Journeys involve effort, movement, starts and stops, detours, delays, wrong turns and trips into unfamiliar territory. So, if following Jesus is a journey, is there a map or landmarks by which we can navigate? Have those who have gone before us left their insights on how to stay the course, avoid detours and chart our progress? The answer is a resounding "Yes!" Join us Sunday as we kick-off our Lenten message series on the Journey of Faith! You will gain insight on discovering where you are on the journey and encouragement to move forward!
