Middle and High School at Flood

The Flood Youth community seeks to provide a safe place where middle and high school students can explore a relationship with Jesus and build community with one another. Wherever you are at in your journey we welcome you and believe that HOPE and HEALING is available for everyone! The Flood Youth Team is made up of unique, passionate, and trained adult leaders who want to listen to your questions, doubts, dreams, and story!

Youth Programs

SUNDAY GATHERING

  • 2nd-5th Sundays of the month: All youth meet at 11 am
  • Students check in downstairs in the foyer.
  • Middle school proceeds to Room 201 at worship break.
  • High school proceeds to Room 206 at worship break.
  • Students join the main gathering on first Sundays to participate in communion.

MIDWEEK

  • Middle and high school meet separately at Flood Church from 7:00 - 8:30 pm most Wednesdays. See our events listed below for updated scheduling.
  • Midweek is a time to build community, grow in faith and have fun! Friends are always welcome to join. 

RETREATS

Retreats are one of our favorite ways to intentionally grow in our faith together and build deeper community with our peers.

Jesus Focused

"Good News"

Flood Youth provides space for middle and high school students to encounter the living God through Jesus. Curiosity, mentorship, and spiritual practices are avenues that we actively foster and encourage teens to step into.

Belonging

"You matter here"

We are a culture of belonging and friendship where every teen is known by at least one adult and one peer. Since the question: "Where do I Belong?" is a core for teens' identity formation; we cultivate friendships wherever they are on their spiritual journey. They belong first. 

Relational Discipleship

We know that "sticky faith comes from pursuing and maintaining relationships with 5 mature and safe Jesus followers. We make extra effort to live an intergenerational life where teenagers are integrated into every aspect of the church. 

Fun

"Gratitude is the foundation of all joy"

Joy is a defining characteristic of the kingdom of God! we foster joy through gratitude, acceptance of one another, and encouragement. We are a community that thinks kindness is cool, where jokes build each other up and not tear each other down.

Safe Space

"Private before public"

We aspire to equip students to love their neighbors, seek justice for the oppressed, and to welcome the stranger in real and practical ways. Youth are empowered to used their gifts for the sake of others.

"Becoming like Jesus for the sake of others"

As Disciples of Jesus, we want to grow in following his way and becoming more like him. In a lifestyle of mentorship and apprenticeship, we are open and humble to the feedback of trusted faith mentors. We hold the tension of grace and truth in the context of a safe and healthy relationship. 

Outreach

"Welcome Home"

We want to be an intentionally porous community that anticipates new people with new perspectives. Listening with empathy and hospitality is our starting point for outreach. We think about and take action on how we can help others grow in their walk with Jesus.
