Vision, Values & Curriculum Vision
Flood Kids is a movement of hope and healing where kids can: Experience God Learn to love Jesus Embrace His truths Values – Safety, Relationships, Age-Appropriate Bible Teaching, Creativity and Fun! Mission – We aim to disciple children to follow Jesus and live a life of faith, community and action:
Curriculum:
The curriculum we use for our elementary program is called LifeKids. The LifeKids team and partner ministries create colorful, Bible-based thematic lessons for elementary students of all ages. The Flood Kids team helps the curriculum come to life through interactive activities, games and crafts.
Current Elementary Unit: Hope
Hope in Jesus can keep you going when the going gets tough.
When you have hope, you believe the future can be better and that you have a role to play in making it better. While others can support us and help us stay focused on goals that lead to a better personal future, our best hope is anchored in Jesus—He is always good and that never changes. When we choose to follow Him, He gives us a hope that is alive: He died for our sins but came back to life to give us a better eternity. Hope in Jesus is powerful and it comes with responsibility. Our hope in Jesus isn’t just for us. God's plan is for us, as people of His Church, to spread the hope of Jesus to hurting people who need it.
Bible Verse Memorization:
At the beginning of each unit Bible verse cards are provided for all elementary families. The cards contain the main point and Bible verse for each week of the current unit. The extent that children participate in the Bible Verse memorization is based on their developmental abilities and their parents' judgement. All verses can be modified to any extent needed and all elementary children have the option of reciting the verse to a volunteer or to their parents. Each time a verse is recited, children are able to choose a prize from the prize bin.
