ABOUT FLOOD CHURCH
Flood Church is a movement of hope and healing with Sunday gatherings in San Diego, California. We seek to develop followers of Jesus who love God, love one another and love our neighbors.
Since our beginning, 25 years ago, we have held a high value of creativity and original art birthed out of our community. The Worship Director will play a crucial role in keeping the legacy of excellence and spirit-led art alive and thriving for future generations at Flood.
This position can be anywhere from part-time to full-time, depending on the skill-set provided. Ultimately, we’re looking for energetic, kingdom-minded creatives who are ready to use their talents and gifts, musically and otherwise, to serve the Church.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Music
- Develop and cultivate a culture of interactive and experiential worship on Sundays.
- Cultivate community among artists, musicians, and media volunteers.
- Connect and communicate with worship volunteers regularly.
- Care for, shepherd, and equip Flood musicians with what they need professionally, personally, and spiritually.
- Develop worship leaders and worship musicians from within the Flood community, both spiritually and musically.
- Work with both volunteer and paid musicians to craft unique and demographically-appropriate arrangements of songs for corporate worship.
- Host midweek rehearsal and discipleship environment for Flood musicians.
- Coordinate music at Flood gatherings on Sundays and all-church events.
- Enhance the topic of each Sunday through worship music.
- Schedule vocalists/musicians as needed.

Prayer & Liturgy
- Encourage congregational participation in prayer and worship on Sundays.
- Implement Scripture along with music in worship gatherings.
- Oversee and develop Prayer Ministry team leaders.
- Plan and coordinate quarterly prayer/worship events.
- Creatively implement the liturgical church calendar into the rhythm of Flood with Lead Pastor and Creative Arts Director.

Sundays
- Work with Creative Arts Director, Lead Pastor, and Sunday Team to craft meaningful and interactive worship experiences each week where people can hear and respond to the Living God.
- Oversee development and scheduling of Sunday production teams, including media, lights, and audio.
- Work with Creative Arts Director on purchases and repairs of sound equipment.
WORK WEEK
- 40+ hours per week.
- Weekly Schedule:
- Hybrid Schedule: Wednesday, Friday
- Mandatory On-Site: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday
DESIRED SKILLS
- Familiarity with Google Suite Products and ProPresenter
- Volunteer and team development
- Basic knowledge of live sound equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot, adapt, and improvise solutions
- Ability to lead graciously and intentionally
- Musical training, skilled vocally and instrumentally
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing, etc.
- Ability to lift, carry, or push up to 50 pounds and engage in physical activities.
