Body & Soul: The Gift of an Embodied Faith

Made to Rest

Julian MalottiOctober 5, 2025 Sermon Details

Rest is not just a command from Jesus, it’s something He modeled Himself. God rested on the seventh day, and as His followers, we’re invited to rest too. Yet, in a world that celebrates hustle, with phrases like "I haven’t taken a vacation in years" or "I’m the first in, last out," rest feels counter-cultural.

Why is it so hard to truly rest? It’s not just about physical fatigue; it’s about identity. When we seek worth and significance in our accomplishments, rest becomes impossible. But when we understand our identity in Christ, we realize we have nothing to prove and no one to impress. This Sunday’s message isn’t just about rest, it’s about discovering who we really are in Christ. And when we embrace that identity, we can finally experience the true rest we’ve been longing for.
