The Christian Church has three major annual celebrations and sadly much of the Protestant church only celebrates two of them. These events are Christmas, celebrating the birth of Jesus and Easter celebrating the death and resurrection of Jesus. The third celebration is Pentecost which culminates the 50 day season of Eastertide by commemorating the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. This event recorded in Acts 2:1-40 is the fulfillment of the good news to which Christmas and Easter point, God's Presence made available at all times to all people! Pentecost gives us the opportunity to reflect on our personal experience with the Holy Spirit. How has God been present and active in and through your life? How do you seek to keep in step with the Spirit? What resonance or resistance do you have to the ministry of the Holy Spirit?
