A day in a soup kitchen. A couple weeks serving abroad. Christmas Giving Trees. These are all incredible ways to serve people in need and can truly leave a powerful impact on the lives of everyone involved. But sometimes what begins as a heartfelt intent to love God and neighbor can quickly become a means to check off the list. "Lord, I did the 'mission' thing... We good?" We can easily miss the big idea, which is that God’s mission is not a "thing." She, he and they are a WHO.
