Our parable for this week is Luke 18:9-14, on the Pharisee and the Tax Collector. I've typically focused my attention on juxtaposing these two characters' styles of prayer. However, in light of summer camp revelations and the back-to-school season, I'm left in awe of the heart and character of God in this parable. Both men in this parable are broken and need redemption, yet one has a more accurate view of the God he is praying to. Praise God that our faith and trust are in a gracious and merciful Father who bestows his good news on those who know they need it. May his grace be renewed in our hearts and minds this Sunday.
